Advanced Writers’ Workshop at the Powell-Cotton Museum, Weds 23rd August 2017
This workshop is open to writers who have completed (or made significant progress with) a full-length novel, collection of short stories, or equivalent; or who hold a Master’s degree in Creative Writing.
The theory sessions of the day deal with character and point of view. The practical sessions will involve writing exercises and prompts in the unique Powell-Cotton Museum and its beautiful gardens.
This 7-hour course will refresh your creative mind, help develop new or established characters and suggest robust ways forward with point of view. Importantly, in the sometimes isolated world of writing, it will introduce you to other writers working at a similar level.
The course is taught by Anstey Spraggan, author and associate Creative Writing lecturer at Canterbury Christchurch University.
The course fee of £85 includes a two-course lunch at Quex Barn, teas and coffees throughout the day, entrance to the house, gardens and museum, and all tuition. The course will run from 9:30-5, with taught and practical sessions from 10am to 12:45pm and 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Please note, there is some – light – walking involved between Quex Barn and the museum and gardens. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07811338871 to reserve a place or for more information. Places are strictly limited and this course will sell out very quickly.
